Updating the video card driver on a computer?

I am having problems playing GTA San Andreas. It is very slow when i play it. I was told i need to update my video card driver. When doing this do i need to uninstall my current driver before installing a higher version?|||No need to uninstall, it'll automatically update itself over the existing driver.

The only time that you would need to uninstall old drivers would be if you're switching from NVIDIA to ATI or vice versa.

If you're going from let's say a Geforce 7600GT to a Geforce 8800GT or a RADEON 9600 to an HD3870, simply updating over top of the existing drivers will do nicely.

You can always uninstall the old drivers just to be sure of no problems, but it's really not necessary, I've never had issues.

ATI cards: http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

NVIDIA cards: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.asp…|||in most cases for high end video cards. It would be best to uninstall drivers before reinstalling. You would also need to update direct X to the latest version after you reinstall your drivers.|||Right click on my computer, click properties, Under hardware tab, open device manager, Right click your display adaptor and click update driver. Good Luck !!!!|||The expected way to update your driver is to obtain it from the card manufacturer's site (such as ati.com), the installer should do it all for you.
